I am a professional photographer; however, photography is not my full time job.  My passion for photography allows me to function with a level of sanity in my career.  I have been an active photographer for fifteen years and a student of photography at Tidewater Community College Visual Arts Center for six years.  Photography, at its highest level, is a true art and I always aspire to photograph at the highest level.  As an artist, I always focus on the most creative presentation of an image. The most creative presentation may be a tried and true format, one  spontaneously suggested by the client or one inspired by the moment.  I always try to capture a natural easy smile, a quick look at the camera or one's momentary thoughtful glance at another.  But more important, I always focus on and capture in image form the presence of the moment. The the spirit and feeling of the moment to be shared with others when they view the final image.   

* I always want your input on the style of photographs you desire.  Between your ideas and mine we will develop the best images for your presentation to friends, family and associates.

* Are you looking for a standard portrait style with the image framed in a posing position with a certain look, a tilt of the head and a slight turn of the shoulders, or a photojournalistic style with unrehearsed movements, looks or turns?  Maybe a unique combination of both styles is best for your special photographic occasion.

* Contemporary wedding photography is a mixture of both standard and photojournalistic styles.  Individual photographs of the bride and groom with appropriate wedding parties before the ceremony will be captured as well as the bride and groom with wedding parties after the ceremony.  Of course, the entire ceremony will be discretely captured with either the use of flash or natural light.  Finally, the reception will be a mixture of both styles capturing the bride and groom, guest and all the fun and entertainment of you special wedding celebration. 

* Special events like birthday parties, graduations or even a family gathering will be captured in the same style as a wedding event with a combination of standard and photojournalist styles.
